About the Arts, Design, and Culture Sector

The Arts, Design, and Culture Sector is a working community inside the 11th Department where members collaborate on solutions that strengthen Haiti’s food systems and rural economies—through shared knowledge, coordination, and real projects.

This sector connects Haitians in Haiti, the diaspora, and Friends of Haiti who care about arts, design, and culture—farmers, agronomists, researchers, entrepreneurs, nonprofits, students, and supporters.

What this sector is for

We exist to help members:

  • connect with people working on similar challenges
  • share resources, research, tools, and local experience
  • discuss needs, opportunities, and solutions
  • organize ideas into clear proposals
  • support and execute projects with measurable outcomes

How to participate

You can contribute in different ways

  • Supporter — follow updates, attend events, share, donate
  • Contributor — join discussions, vote, give feedback, help shape ideas
  • Builder — volunteer skills to help implement tasks and deliver milestones
  • Leader — coordinate initiatives, working groups, or sector planning

How ideas become projects

Most sector work starts with members identifying real needs. Ideas are debated and improved in Discussions and Groups, supported by Resources, then proposed as projects with clear goals and milestones. Selected initiatives can move forward for broader coordination and funding.
