EROL JOSUE BIOGRAPHY
Jean Erol Josué, born on October 13, 1970, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, is a Vodou priest, singer, dancer, educator, and the director general of the National Bureau of Ethnology. As an expert in the culture and history of Haitian Vodou, Erol Josué is an internationally renowned artist, particularly known for his second album "Pélerinaj." Active across the Americas, Europe, and Africa, he works to transform the stereotypical and negative image of Vodou religion.
Houngan Asogwe, bearer of traditions and transmitter of memory, is the founder of the dance company 21 Nanchon, the ancestral choir Neges Fla Vodou, and the Sacred Drums of Haiti.
As an ethnoscenologist, his work aims to defend and promote the intangible heritage of Haiti. His creations also serve as advocacy for social and metaphysical justice within the Vodou community. A multi-talented artist and perpetual initiate, Erol Josué embodies the musical and identity revolution.
EDDY GARNIER BIOGRAPHY
Eddy Garnier did his classical studies with the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, which he completed at the Collège Canado Haïtien. At the same time, he completed three years of study at the Conservatoire Nationale d’Art dramatique in Port-au-Prince.
He attended the Faculty of Ethnology before leaving for Canada (Montreal) where he completed a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Regional Public Services Management.
He had a professional career mainly in the Canadian Public Service where he held positions in various fields related to management and administration, including: Finance, public accounting, port administration, human resources management, market analysis, real estate appraisal, ministerial agent and others.
He has also published several books (16 in all): Novels, poetry, spirituality - essays. His latest novel, published in 2019, is entitled: Papi a menti.
He published in 2023 a Dictionary of Haitian Music Volume 1. (Available on Amazon). In 2023 he published RICTUS, a book of poetry at Éditions Terre d’Accueil and in 2024, a Dictionary of Haitian Vodou (Available on Amazon).
